Special Olympics

are shown after presenting ribbons to student athletes at the May 15
Track and Field Event for Darke Co. Special Olympics. Pictured
left to right are some of the many athletes in the 4 x 100 Unified
Relay, these were all from Greenville’s South Middle School:
Savannah Hoop, Kierrah Beavins, Mikaya Wiskerchen and Phoebe
Bright. Special Olympians are featured in this relay with their
unified partners. Darke Co, Special Olympics has athletes
competing at the local, area, and state levels in basketball,
cheerleading, bowling, softball, Unified golf, swimming, and track
& field. Unified golf , like the 4 x 100 relay, pairs one athlete
with disabilities and one athlete, referred to as a “partner,” without
