Pets
of the week
GREENVILLE - The Darke County Animal Shelter has many pets available
for adoption, including several breeds of dogs, as well as cats and
kittens. The Shelter chooses pets to feature each week, this week
they've selected:
Dakota is a 1 year Australian Shepherd. He is black, white and brown
with long hair. He is a friendly guy who walks well on a leash. He is
full of energy and loves to play. He does know some commands. He is
current on his shots and has a short tail. He is waiting to be
adopted.
Dalton is an 8 month old Bearded Collie mix. He is white and brown with
long hair. He is a little standoffish when you first meet him. After
that he becomes warm and friendly. He loves to play and loves
attention. He is current on his shots, has been altered and is
housebroken. He will make a wonderful housedog and friend. He is
waiting to be adopted.
Archer is a 6 year old Chocolate lab. He is brown with short hair. He
is a big guy and loves to play. He walks well on a leash and does know
some commands. He is current on his shots and is good with other dogs
and cats. He will make a great walking buddy and companion. He is ready
to be adopted.
They also have a couple coon dogs, a red heeler mix, a couple of
terriers, a Bearded Collie and numerous other dogs as well as
cats and kittens for adoption.
The Shelter hours are 8am till 4:30pm Monday-Friday and 9:00 till noon
on Saturday. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Road in
Greenville, and the phone number is 547-1645.
The Friends of the Shelter” will have their 12 annual “Pets Pictures
with Santa Claus” on November 19th at the Wal-Mart garden center in
Greenville. This is a fun event and is open to all of your family. It
will be from 10:00am till 2:00pm. Come by and help support the Friends
in their many endeavors.
