A group of After School Program students take time out from studies to thank
MJS Plastics for its contribution.

MJS Plastics supports community with Empowering donation

MJS Plastics supports the environment through its plastics recycling business, and its community with a recent donation to Empowering Darke County Youth.

MJS Plastics, Inc. is a full service post-industrial plastic recycling company. It serves a wide range of industries throughout the Midwest and Southeast. MJS helps to manage plastic waste, reduce environmental impact and simplify the recycling process.

Empowering Darke County Youth, a 501c3 community service organization, is wrapping up its inaugural After School Program, having served more than 70 students from Greenville and the county. With only a short time left in the school year, the program averages 12-16 students a day.

Empowering is currently enrolling students for its Summer Tutoring at the Greenville Public Library. The focus is on working with the child in areas in which help is needed. There will also be a Summer Reading Program at Edison State Darke County Campus for the student who wants to fine-tune reading skills, or simply have regularly scheduled reading times over the summer.

Volunteers are needed for both programs. If you would like to help, or make a donation, please email empoweringdarkecountyyouth@gmail.com.

Our mission: “Empowering Darke County Youth provides After School and Summer Tutoring programs to assist students in the areas of language arts and math with the goal of Strong Students for a Strong Community.”
