Month for September 2017, Kaitlan Thompson (Arcanum) and Maegann Hackworth (Arcanum).

MVCTC Students of the Month

Englewood, Ohio - The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture (EBITA) Department under the leadership of Supervisor, David Peltz, recognizes a Student of the Month each month during the school year.  The award honors outstanding accomplishments and leadership in Career Tech Education. The September honorees are Kaitlan Thompson (Arcanum High School), and Maegann Hackworth (Arcanum High School).

Kaitlan Thompson (Arcanum) is a member of Business Ownership and has proven to be an excellent leader in serving as the BPA Treasurer.  Last year she won first place with her team at the BPA Region and State Competitions in advancing to Nationals in Orlando, Florida. She has shown dedication and commitment to her learning in attending Ohio Business Week at Wright State University over the summer.  Kaitlan recently qualified as one of 13 finalists for BPA State Officer of Ohio.

Maegann Hackworth (Arcanum) was selected as the Medical Office Management class president.  She is maintaing outstanding scholarship in the class with excellence across the board.  Program instructor, Mr. Rusty Sink stated, “Maegann came to Medical Office Management with a great attitude and is willing to help anyone in class.”

Congratulations to Kaitlan and Maegann for their outstanding representation of MVCTC and their respective programs.  Special thanks to Hot Head Burrito of Englewood, Ohio for donating gift certificates.  Both students received plaques to honor their accomplishments.

What started almost 50 years ago as the Montgomery County JVS has transformed into the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC). While the name has changed, the mission remains the same. We are dedicated to providing training for in-demand jobs and college-readiness skills for high school and adult students across Darke, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren Counties.
