a teen to college?
Dear County News Online Reader:
County News Online has been providing a free daily community
information service to Darke County and surrounding residents for
nearly three years. It serves an average 35,000 visitors a month who
view an average 180,000 pages each month. We will reach 4 million page
views in December or early January.
For those of you who may not know, CNO is a fundraising project of the
Senior Scribes Scholarship Fund, a 501c3 non-profit entity. Our goal,
in addition to providing information, is and always will be to raise
money to help local teens with their college expenses. As of today,
SSSF has given over $37,000 in scholarships to 30 students with nearly
$23,000 of that coming from CNO sponsors and donors. To all those who
have helped make this possible we sincerely thank you.
CNO, like any other daily service, has expenses. We provide our free
service primarily through volunteer efforts with minimal marketing and
pagination expenses. Compare this to any other service that does so
with a staff of 15 to 20 or more. In order to continue doing this we
need your help.
Our first fundraising campaign kicks off this month. Our goal is
$20,000 for the year. This will cover our operations for 2014 plus set
aside a minimum of 6 to 8 scholarships for local youth. Will you help?
