Empowering Darke County Youth
CNO’s
new look, in case you hadn’t noticed…

for years – supporting CNO’s goal to serve Darke County Youth… see the
brief messages at the top of many pages, asking for help for our young
people…
Help Empowering Darke County Youth do what it was born to do… empower
local youth struggling in their academic pursuits.
County News Online, since its inception in 2011, has gone through many
stages of growth, but its goal has always been the same: to support
Darke County young people. It has recently been incorporated into the
Empowering programs by the Board of Directors as an official
fundraiser. All donations and sponsorship funds go directly to
Empowering.
Empowering Darke County Youth was formed in March 2016. Since then, its
programs have been embraced by parents in four school districts during
the summer, and Greenville Schools parents with its After School
Program during the school year. Experienced tutors, Edison State
students and adult volunteers have worked more than 10,000 hours with
more than 450 kindergarten through eighth grade students.
The tutoring focus is math and reading… literacy is a cornerstone of
success regardless of the field any student might want to go into, and
math has become crucial as many careers focus on STEM (science,
technology, engineering and math) careers. Reading and math are the
basics students need for all other subjects.
CNO publishes 24 articles a week, plus obituaries. Some articles
promote local events, however most have to do with life lessons for all
ages, education news, helpful information regarding the challenges our
youth face, and of course, Empowering news.
Let us know how we are doing and consider helping us in our goal to
help any child in Darke County who is struggling in his or her academic
pursuits. We have a long way to go; we need your help. Donations may be
sent to Empowering Darke County Youth, P.O. Box 1113, Greenville, Ohio
45331. Would you like to talk about a display sponsorship? Email
editor@countynewsonline.org or empoweringyouth101@gmail.com.
Thank you from the Empowering Board, tutors and volunteers and,
especially, Empowering kids!
