Edison to Host Administrative Professionals
Day Program
Edison Community College will present a program Wednesday, April 27, in
recognition of Administrative Professionals Day that salutes the many
contributions of support staff throughout the area.
The program is open to all office support professionals, including
administrative assistants, executive assistants, office managers and
other employees who provide secretarial or administrative support for
one or multiple supervisors. Participants will discuss such topics as
focusing on strengths, improving collaboration and increasing
effectiveness. Managers and other professionals can also benefit from
attending, gaining valuable insight on workplace relationships,
initiative and rewards.
“This will be the 19th year that we have held an event for
Administrative Professionals at Edison,” said Patti Ross, Dean for
Information Technology and Engineering at Edison. “We design this event
as a celebration of the contribution and value that our administrative
professionals bring to our work environments.”
Miami County Municipal Judge Elizabeth Gutmann, will be the keynote
speaker for the event, presenting, “A View From The Bench – Criminal
Justice in the Upper Miami Valley 2011.”
“It is imperative that administrative professionals keep abreast of
changes in the workplace, along with new technology in an ever-changing
world,” said Gloria A. Harpest, Administrative Vice President of Human
Resources & Marketing of Greenville National Bank and Chairperson
of the Office Systems & Administration Advisory Committee at Edison
Community College.
The day’s event will close out with a fashion show sponsored by area
retailers CJ Banks of Piqua and Peebles of Sidney.
Those interested in participating will need to register by April 18.
Cost to attend is $30 per person, which includes admission to all
sessions, lunch and refreshments, and a door prize drawing. The event
runs from 12:30 – 4 p.m. and will be held at Edison’s Piqua main
campus. The program is sponsored by the Office Systems &
