The Gathering at
Garst is Planned for July
A new and exciting annual event is planned for July 30 and 31, 2011 at
Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio. The Gathering at Garst: A Garden of
Antiques and Art, will be a quality, juried show that features vendors
in the following categories; artists, antique vendors, skilled
historical craftsmen, primitive folk- artists, garden exhibitors,
farmers market and specialty vendors, and food vendors.
The Gathering at Garst will be held outside in the beautiful park-like
setting behind the Garst Museum. The area is surrounded by the
Greenville City Park and Darke County Park areas. Vendors will be
grouped in a casual flowing pattern. For example, all artists will be
in one area, all antique vendors will be in another area. This will
create a close, casual, flowing, walk-through-the garden vendor area.
It is the mission of The Gathering at Garst to promote awareness and
appreciation of those who made unique contributions to the culture of
Darke County and to celebrate its local heritage in a family-oriented
and educational atmosphere.
The Gathering committee is directed by Garst Museum executive director,
Dr. Clay Johnson, and event chairperson, Jenny Clark. Public admission
to The Gathering at Garst is free. All celebration proceeds will
benefit the Garst Museum.
Event hours will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 30 and
from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 31. Vendor set up will be on
Friday, July 29 from 12:00 to 8:00 pm
The Gathering at Garst has a website where vendors can get applications
