Darke County
Republican Women’s Club to hold Q/A for Republican Primary Candidates
On April 11, the public is invited to hear the candidates who will
appear on the Republican ballot for the upcoming May 3 Primary
Election. These candidates are who you will vote for if you request a
Republican ballot at your polling place.
The
office of Greenville Mayor is the only contested race – with
Republican incumbent Mayor Mike Bowers being challenged by current
Greenville City Council Republican member Doug Schmidt. Republican
candidate for Greenville auditor is incumbent Nancy Myers.
Greenville City Council members for Ward 1, Kate Kerg, and Ward 4, John
A. Baumgardner, are also unopposed. Ward 1 will be an empty seat and
Baumgardner is incumbent for Ward 4. Jesse Green, Republican Candidate
for Municipal Court Judge, is unopposed in the primary election. His
name will not appear on the May 3 Primary ballot, but will be on the
November General Election Ballot.
The program is being sponsored by the Darke County Republican Women’s
Club. The candidates will begin their presentation at 7 p.m. in
the Chestnut Village Center of the Brethren Home Retirement Community.
Each candidate will address the audience with a question/answer
period following.
The club will be having a meal prior to the program. Anyone wishing to
enjoy their evening meal with the group may do so by calling Wavelene
Denniston at (937) 547-6477 or by sending an email to
DCRWReservations@darkegop.org to place a reservation. Cost of the meal
is $7.50. Any reservation made is expected to be paid.
Reservations must be made before noon on April 7. The meal will begin
promptly at 6:30 p.m., so plan to arrive in plenty of time to check in,
etc.
If you have any questions, please contact President Sally Zeiter at
(937) 423-2391 or by email at DCRWPresident@darkegop.org.
