GREENVILLE
- Judge Sharon Kennedy, of

Kennedy,
a native of Hamilton County,
was previously a police and crime prevention officer for the City of
Hamilton,
and Director of the Victim/Witness Division of the Common Pleas Court.
Kennedy
earned her law degree from the
University of Cincinnati. After obtaining her Juris Doctor degree, she
maintained a private practice from 1991 to 1999, during which time she
served
as: General Counsel for Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #38, Special
Counsel for
the Ohio Attorney, General’s office, Warrant and Compliance Officer for
the
Butler County Juvenile Court, and Magistrate and Warrant Officer for
the Butler
County Area Courts.

Judge
Kennedy identifies the law and
the work she is able to do as a judge as being her passion. She says
much has
changed recently in the field of family courts and that changes are
needed in
the laws governing that field. She said she has considerable knowledge
of
specialized dockets such as those used in Butler County drug court
addressing
treatment of mental illnesses and substance dependencies.
It
is not just the one who appears in
court that suffers, the families face challenges, also, explained Judge
Kennedy. She says that she has dealt with these issues and knows what
the
families go through when faced with the legal ramifications of these
problems.
