Edison’s
Gibellino to Speak to
Volunteers on Dec. 8

Gibellino, Edison College
Coordinator of Career Services, will speak to the Darke County
Volunteer
Network on Thursday, December 8 in the Community Room at State of the
Heart
Hospice. The
one-hour meeting will begin
at noon, a “bring your own brown bag” luncheon.
Cookies and coffee will be provided.
Gibellino will discuss marketing volunteerism
and how non-profit
agencies can develop their volunteers’ skills.
“Volunteers
and their organizations
become more successful when the managers of the volunteers are
well-trained and
supported,” said Pauline Faller, Volunteer Coordinator at State of the
Heart
Hospice. Kristy Cutarelli, a local food pantry director has been
attending the
Darke County Volunteer Network. The Fish Choice Pantry regularly uses
30+
volunteers and Cutarelli has participated in managerial trainings. “Whether you lead
volunteers who serve in the
nursery of your church or you oversee volunteer projects for a large
non-profit, you will find support and free education with the Darke
County
Volunteer Network.”
Gibellino
has been associated with
Edison College since 1993 and taught adult education: Computer
Information,
Business Writing, Effective Communication, and First Year Experience. In her current role she
provides career
counseling, job search assistance and acts as an academic advisor. She works with specialized
populations,
including those receiving funding under the Workforce Investment Act
and Trade
Adjustment Assistance Program.
Prior
to coming to West Central Ohio,
Gibellino worked in Human Resource Management for a Fortune 500 Company
in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her undergraduate degree is in business from
Robert
Morris University in Pittsburgh. She holds a graduate degree in
education from
the University of Dayton, with a specialization in school counseling.
She is
now a certified Zenger Miller communications trainer and recently
became
certified to administer the Myers/Briggs Type Indicator personality
assessment.
