Darke
County Parks…
Nesting Songbirds of Ohio
July 14, 2011
Join Darke
County Parks’ summer intern, Aaron Coons, as he discusses his research
on the
songbird nest box usage, success rate and species involved within a
corridor of
riparian zone near the Hocking River and adjacent to old farm fields. Aaron will then talk about
different types of
nest boxes and the pros and cons of different designs that can be used
here in
Darke County. Find
out how you can
attract birds to your area through the use of nest boxes. The presentation will be
held at the Nature
Center at Shawnee Prairie Preserve on Thursday, July
28 at 7pm. After
the
presentation, join Aaron for a walk around our Bluebird Trail to see
which
species are using our nest boxes here!
