The Gathering at
Garst Will Feature Artists
Artists are now signing up for the new summer event planned for July 30
and 31, 2011 at Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio. The Gathering at
Garst: A Garden of Antiques and Art, will feature vendors in the
following categories; artists, antique vendors, skilled historical
craftsmen, primitive folk-artists, garden exhibitors, farmers market
and specialty vendors, and food vendors.
Julie Clark of Bear’s Mill Pottery, Greenville, Ohio is delighted to be
one of the first to sign up in the artist’s category. Bear’s Mill is a
“must see” stop for any visitor to Darke County. In addition to
learning how an authentic working gristmill from the early 1850’s
operates, there is the Mill Store and Gallery. Julie Clark, an
award-winning potter, makes and exhibits her fine pottery along with
the work of other artists in the Mill Gallery. Known for the simplicity
and beauty of her glazes and the natural form of her clay creations,
Julie Clark is a welcome addition to the Gathering at Garst.
It is the mission of The Gathering at Garst to promote awareness and
appreciation of those who made unique contributions to the culture of
Darke County and to celebrate its local heritage in a family-oriented
and educational atmosphere.
Public admission to The Gathering at Garst is free. All celebration
proceeds will benefit the Garst Museum.
Event hours will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 30 and
from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 31. Vendor set up will be on
Friday, July 29 from 12:00 to 8:00 pm
