Darke County Volunteer Network to Meet June
9th
The Darke County Volunteer Network invites members of the public to
attend its next meeting on Thursday, June 9, at State of the Heart
Hospice in Greenville.
This month’s meeting will focus on establishing goals for the group,
including the development of a formal mission and solicitation of
future meeting topic suggestions. The group will meet from noon
to 1 p.m., and participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch
to enjoy during the session. Anyone who manages volunteer efforts
for an area nonprofit organization is welcome to attend, and
participation in the group is free of charge.
“This group is available to provide support for those who work directly
with volunteers in our county,” says Sherry Baker, HandsOn West Central
Ohio Volunteer Coordinator for Council on Rural Services.
“Whether you lead other volunteers in projects for your local church or
schedule them to help with big events like local festivals, this group
can provide you with some great ideas of how to make each volunteer
experience more enjoyable and more productive.”
Spearheading the Darke County Volunteer Network are leaders from Darke
County United Way, the Darke County Chapter of the American Red Cross,
HandsOn West Central Ohio (a program of Council on Rural Services) and
State of the Heart Hospice. To learn more about this group or to
reserve your space at the group’s next meeting, contact Sherry Baker at
(937) 548-8002, ext. 211, or sbaker@councilonruralservices.org.
