DCCA Special
Performance: Claire Lynch
Darke County Center for the Arts is announcing an addition to their
2010-2011 season; bluegrass icon Claire Lynch will perform at Henry St.
Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on Friday, April 1 at 8 p.m.
According to Keith Rawlins, Artistic Director for DCCA, this unexpected
opportunity was presented because the bluegrass star discovered a brief
lull in her schedule, and needed a booking between already scheduled
concerts.
“Because the father of Claire’s agent is a friend of mine, I got the
call,” Rawlins said. “DCCA and I are incredibly grateful that we
were given the privilege of presenting an artist of this caliber; I
hope that everyone takes advantage of the opportunity to see this
sweet-voiced bluegrass star right here in our community,” Rawlins
concluded.
According to Rawlins, Claire Lynch has for many years been a creative
force in acoustic music. The singer earned the International
Bluegrass Music Award for Female Vocalist of the Year in 1997 and in
2010, but her music defies genre and her distinctive voice wins
admirers of all stripes. “Once again, the impeccable acoustics of
Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall provide the perfect venue for an
outstanding performer. Claire Lynch and her band always demand
rapt attention; in our unique venue, their distinctive sound will
provide a truly memorable performance,” Rawlins concluded.
Tickets for the Claire Lynch concert are $20, and can be reserved by
contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net.
If any remain by showtime, tickets will also be available at the door.
