Experience Leland
Faulkner’s World of Wonder
Edison Community College
has donated funds to Darke County Center for the Arts’ Family Theater
and Arts In Education programs.
World of Wonder is the final program in DCCA’s Family Theatre series
and will be presented at St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on
Sunday, March 13, 2011. Leland Faulkner begins his program by informing
the audience that his job is to help others see the extra-ordinary in
the every-day things of life. A true shadowgraph artist (having
consulted on The Polar Express movie), Leland proves that our hands are
amazing tools, that a piece of paper can do so much more than just lay
on a desk, and that there is wonder to be found in magic from the Far
East.
The show begins at 2:00 pm and will last approximately one hour.
This program is appropriate for youngsters ages 2 to 92. Tickets
are $5 and may be purchased at Readmore’s Hallmark in Greenville, and
at Worch Memorial Public Library in Versailles. Tickets may also
be purchased at the door the day of the show.
DCCA’s Arts In Education program, in conjunction with Greenville City
and Darke County schools, annually takes a performing arts program to
all grades of all Greenville City and Darke County schools.
According to Strait, “one of DCCA’s primary goals is to ensure that
children in our community have an opportunity to learn and grow through
a wide variety of artistic performances; it takes numerous sponsors to
make that happen and we are grateful to Edison Community College for
offering their support.” Leland Faulkner toured all Darke County
schools the week of March 7, taking his “World Of Wonder” to students
in grades 4 through 6.
