A Tribute to the
Native American Flute
Are you looking for something to do this Sunday afternoon? If so, the
Garst museum has a great opportunity for you.
Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM, the Garst Museum will feature a
Native American flute and story telling performance by John DeBoer.
The author, musician, and environmental educator will be performing “A
Tribute to the Native American Flute,” telling stories, and sharing
legends. His performance will include original and classic Native
American songs on some of the world’s finest Native American styled
flutes. DeBoer’s flute collection features such wonderful flute makers
as David Nighteagle, Ken Light, Lone Crow, Scott Loomis, Coyote Clay,
Crow Beak, and many more. The “Spirit of Thunder Collection” of Native
American flutes creates a wonderful woodland flute sound rarely ever
heard as it captivates audiences with their mystical voices. Fun for
all ages.
All lectures are free and open to the public. Support for the
Garst Lecture series comes from the Ami McClurkin Community Fund,
administered by the HOPE Foundation, and a grant from Midmark
Corporation.
