Darke County American
Red Cross Creating Teen Leaders
Darke County, OH, Are your teens able to communicate well, when they’re
not texting or tweeting? Does your teen stand out as a
Leader? Would you like to your teenager to be better able to
handle a job interview, a college visit or a scholarship essay?
If you answered no to any of these questions, then answer yes, to
signing up your teen for Leadership. This spring the Darke County Red
Cross is once again offering their Teen Leadership Course, expanding on
last year’s program and allowing additional age groups to participate.
Leadership is an exciting youth development course combining
facilitator led development curriculum, leadership,
communication, conflict resolution, team building skills, along with a
challenge course at Camp Yale in Winchester to put learned skills into
focus.
Course is divided into two-age groups: Leadership I (7th-9th grade) and
Leadership I I (10th-12th grade) with Leadership I meeting from
9:00-12:00 and Leadership II meeting from 12:30-3:30. Course
material is the same for both groups. Course is limited to ten
teens per course. Cost of the entire course is $50.00, with some full
scholarships available.
The Darke County Chapter is located at 130 Martz Street, Suite 6, in

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support
to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood;
teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and
supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a
charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on
volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its
mission. For more information, please visit www.redcross.org or join our blog at http://blog.redcross.org.
