Eagles Independence
Day doubles your pleasure
Fireworks and live music, including the popular “Classified,” highlight
the event
The Greenville Eagles Annual Independence Day Celebration kicks off a
two-day event this year, with live music and dancing, food and events
Saturday and Sunday (July 2 & 3), followed by what many described
last year as an “awesome” fireworks display Sunday at dusk.
All events will be at Eagles Park on Shade Road and are open to the
public.
On Saturday, enjoy the rockin’ music of “Saint Right” from 7 to 11 p.m.
Breakfast will be served from 9 to 11 a.m., with hot dogs available in
the afternoon and chicken dinners served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Shade Road opens Sunday at 3 p.m. and kicks off the day’s live music
with the “American Kings” from 4 to 7 p.m. Returning once again from 7
to 10 p.m. will be the popular “Classified.” Vendors will offer a wide
choice of food and snacks throughout the day and evening.
Both days will include a variety of games and events for the family,
including the Moonwalk and a playground for the kids, horseshoes for
adults (bring your own horseshoes) and a number of other activities.
Sunday’s “Largest Fireworks Display in Darke County” wraps up the
weekend, celebrating the 235th year of American Independence.
Greenville Eagles FOE 2177 asks that celebrants enjoy the weekend but
not forget those who purchased our freedom for us.
Members of the Greenville Aerie and Auxiliary have sponsored the Eagles
Independence Day Celebration since 2006. Due to insurance requirements,
no animals will be allowed except service dogs (proof must be
provided). No coolers are allowed in the park. Downtown Eagles will be
closed over the weekend.
The Eagles is committed to serving the Darke County community. Members
support this event and community donations through their patronage and
volunteerism. If you wish to become part of FOE 2177, drop by the
Social Room on Third Street and ask for an application. The Social Room
is open to the public daily from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for breakfast and
lunch.
