Write about your
favorite Senior Citizen
Seventh and eighth graders… there’s still time to tell a story about
your favorite senior citizen, and maybe win $100 dollars! This prize
will be awarded for the top entry in each grade level.
Due to the number of activities students are involved in, and the
limited time they have this time of the year, Gade Health Care Center
has decided to extend the deadline for entries one week to Friday, May
27 at 5 p.m.
The topic? A story about a senior citizen who has had an impact on your
life. It can be a grandparent, friend of the family, a distant relative
who you learned about from a family member… even someone you read about
in a history book.
All entries will be graded by a panel of judges: Christina Chalmers,
Editor of The Daily Advocate; Ryan Berry, Editor of the Early Bird; and
Bob Robinson, Editor of County News Online.
In order to be considered for judging, the story must be 600 words or
less, but no name should be on it. On a separate piece of paper, the
student must put his or her name and address, daytime phone number,
grade, and school. Winning entries plus top runners-up will be
submitted for publication to the newspapers and online.
Deadline for the contest is 5 p.m. May 27. It must be received by then
at Gade Health Care Center, 405 Chestnut Street, Greenville, OH 45331.
