Edison to Offer Free Summer Math Class
Edison Community College will be offering a free summer math class to
help meet the needs of aspiring college students and those looking to
improve on their skills.
The self-paced, computer-based class will launch on June 20 and run
until August 11. Attendees will have the possibility of placing into
college-level math at the end of the summer. There are no costs
associated with the class, and no textbook purchase required.
To be eligible to take and complete the course, prospective students
must take the math placement test prior to the first class, attend an
orientation and put in a minimum of four hours in the math lab per
week, and complete all exams in the lab. At the end of the session, the
math placement test will be given again. Those interested must also
complete the Edison registration form and be admitted in order to
participate.
There is no lecture for the class, and the Edison Math Lab, located on
the Piqua campus in Room 403, will be staffed with math faculty to
provide assistance as required at all times.
The free summer math class is not an online class, as students are
required to attend the math lab each week.
