pianist/composer Robin
Spielberg will be joined on stage by cellist Catherine Bent and Kate
McLeod on
violin and guitar to create “Robin Spielberg’s American Tapestry” when
the
popular artist returns to Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall on Saturday,
December
10.
“Robin’s
spellbinding musical
performance is enhanced by her delightful stories which weave a warm
and
winning tapestry emulating and inspiring the joy of the Christmas
season,”
stated DCCA Artistic Director Keith Rawlins. “The addition of Catherine
and
Kate’s mesmerizing musical skills will create a memorable musical
experience
which will resonate throughout the holidays,” Mr. Rawlins said.
The
holiday concert begins at 8 p.m.
Robin
Spielberg, a member of the
prestigious Steinway Artist Roster who has sixteen recordings to her
credit,
made her Carnegie Hall debut in 1997, and has since performed there
twice.
“Robin
is one of those artists who
casts a spell on her audience as soon as she walks on stage; her
performances
just make you feel really good,” Mr. Rawlins said. In addition to her
expressive piano technique, Ms. Spielberg is known for her
story-telling which
offers insight into the origins of the music as well as the artist’s
appealing
personality.

Spielberg’s American Tapestry”
is sponsored by Jim and Enid Goubeaux and Greenville National Bank.
Darke
County Center for the Arts also receives financial support from Harry
D. and
Esther Stephens Memorial, Ketrow Foundation, and the Lydia E. Schaurer
Memorial
Trust Fund. Additionally, the Ohio Arts Council helps fund this program
with
state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence
and
cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
