10th
Anniversary of 911 Ceremony and Parade
August 30, 2011
September 11, 2011 will
mark a decade since the
United States and 91 other countries lost nearly
3,000 citizens by
terrorist attack. Darke County will be commemorating the 10th
anniversary of
911 on Sunday, September 11. There will be a 2:00 pm wreath laying
ceremony at
the Darke County Courthouse with a parade immediately following the
ceremony at
2:15 pm.
The parade will have
units from countywide fire, police, emergency
personnel, veterans, Miami Valley
Mounted Search & Rescue, Darke Co. Boy Scouts, GHS marching band,
and GHS ROTC. The parade
will begin on Martin Street near the Auto Zone and travel downtown
Broadway to
the Greenville Municipal Building.
Also between 2:00 pm-4:00
pm there will be an open
house at the Greenville Fire and Police Departments. There will be
refreshments
served by the Fort GreeneVille Chapter, DAR at the Greenville Fire
Dept. after
the parade.
