Learn how to get the most out of your smartphone’s camera capabilities
There is a saying among photographers: The best camera you have is the
one you have with you. What that means, simply, is that the best
equipment in the world won’t take a photo if you don’t have it
available when the opportunity arises. Since those of us who carry
smartphones would feel lost without them, and since both hardware and
software of smartphone photography tools have improved dramatically in
the last few years, iPhone photography is a very legitimate – and the
fastest growing – segment of the photography hobby.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m., in the Vaccaro-Myers Gallery
of the Piqua campus, Edison Community College professor Brad Reed will
offer a course in harnessing the power of smartphone photo technology.
Participants will learn about some of the more popular apps for the
iPhone and other iOS devices, as well as the Android smartphone
platfrom.
The class is $40, and those interested can register though Edison’s
Business & Industry Center by calling 937-778-7864.
In addition to the one-day course, Edison is also running a free public
exhibit in the gallery of photos captured and edited using smartphone
technology. The purpose of the exhibit is to demonstrate how artful
photographs can be captured and processed using only the tools on a
smartphone, in this case, an iPhone 4. The images in the exhibit were
not manipulated with any tools other than those on available on the
iPhone.

the process of smartphone photo technology, visit the project’s web
