Seventh Annual Gospel Sing Concert on Sunday

Darke County Cancer Association...

Your local and independent Cancer Association of Darke County is putting on their seventh annual Gospel Sing concert. The Gospel Sing is a free, nondenominational concert on September 11th, at Saint Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville opening at 6:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM.

This week, we will be highlighting some of this year’s performers. This article covers the following artists: Donovan Brown, the Faithful Sons, and our MCs for the evening Bill Nance and Melody Morris from Faith and Friends Radio.

Donavan Brown has been singing Gospel music since 1969.  He has lived in the Arcanum area all his life.  Singing with the Ohio State College singing group, Donovan had a wonderful opportunity to travel to Europe on a gospel singing tour and share the good news of God’s love.  He is asking for your support by attending the Cancer Association of Darke County’s Gospel Concert September 11, 2011.

The Faithful Sons gospel trio, based out of Darke County Ohio, travels the country and is well known in the local Tri-State area. They have performed at the Southern Gospel Fan Fair in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; the Show Case at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky; the Great Lakes Gospel Sing in Michigan; and the Northern Gospel Convention in Indiana. Singing Tenor: Joe Smith, Baritone: Kim Gilbert, and Lead: John Short. The local Cancer Association has been doing great work in the Darke County area for many years and the Faithful Sons encourage you to come and support this worthy cause.

Bill Nance and Melody Morris are co-managers of Faith and Friends Radio, the area’s newest Christian radio station.

Bill Nance is a 40 plus year veteran of radio and television broadcasting, serving the past 22 years in Christian radio.  He is the recipient of more than 50 state, regional, and national awards for journalistic broadcast excellence.  Bill was inducted into the Dayton Area Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2007.  He resides in the greater Dayton area with wife Carol and together they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

Melody Morris has 17 years experience in radio and television and has more than 35 years in management and public presentation positions.  She most recently served as morning drive co-host/news anchor, as well as Director of Marketing and Public Relations in the Dayton and Cincinnati markets.  Melody has served as a vocalist/keyboardist for “Wells of Salvation” for 28 years.  She is a graduate of Wittenberg University and resides in the Dayton area with husband Bob.   They have 2 children and 1 grandson.

Bill and Melody began Faith and Friends Radio in May, an Internet Christian radio station heard 24-7 at faithandfriendsradio.com.  Together, they host the morning drive program, “New Day with Bill & Melody” weekday mornings live from 6-9 a.m.

The Cancer Association is excited for this event and hopes that you and your family will keep the evening of September 11th clear to attend this FREE, nondenominational concert. A love offering will be taken during the performance to benefit the Cancer Association of Darke County. There will also be a bake sale to benefit the Cancer Association with local and homemade baked goods.

Saint Clair Memorial Hall is located on 215 West Fourth Street in Greenville, Ohio; please join us for an evening of entertainment and great music!
