Society to Hold Used Book Sale April 4, 2012
The Phi
Theta Kappa Honor Society at Edison Community College will be
sponsoring a used
book sale to benefit tornado survivors at the Edison campus.
The used
book sale is scheduled for April 4 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and April 5
from 10
a.m. – 8 p.m.
The
organization will be selling used books and magazines including family
friendly
paperbacks, hardbacks, fiction, non-fiction, textbooks, religious
books,
biographies, recipe books, children’s books and other books and will
also be
selling family friendly movies on DVD and VCR.
The items
will be inexpensive and all proceeds will be donated to an organization
that
provides direct care to those living in the tornado-affected areas of
Eastern
Kentucky.
Those
attending the event are asked to bring their own bags or boxes for
their books
if possible, although there will be some available at the door.
There will
be an opportunity for those attending to make a monetary donation that
will be
sent along with the proceeds from the book sale to the tornado
survivors.
Phi Theta
Kappa is still accepting donations of family friendly used books and
movies at
boxes located at the entrances to Edison Community College from now
through
April 4. Anyone wishing to donate can drop off books and movies between
the
hours of 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on
Friday
and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The event
will be held in the gymnasium pavilion of Edison’s Piqua campus. The
book sale
is open to the public.
Phi
Theta Kappa is the international honor
society of the two year college. Students who belong to Phi Theta Kappa
must
have a 3.50 grade point average to be eligible.
