Prairie Days 2012
Darke
County Parks Opportunity
It’s time to smell the Apple Butter being cooked over the
fire, the “thwack!” as the tomahawks find their targets and the sight
of
delighted children’s faces as they see all the pioneer dressed
volunteers…
that’s right; it’s time to get involved with Prairie Days
2012! Please
remember this is a very busy weekend and every little bit helps to make
this
festival a success!
Enclosed/attached you will find a volunteer sign-up sheet
with the volunteer opportunities, along with the shift times for the
weekend.
Please review the opportunities and the brief descriptions (on the
back) of
each opportunity and let me know what you would like to be involved
with for
Prairie Days. If you would like to assist, but none of these
work please
let know as I have some other opportunities available.
Prior to the festival we will be having a Prairie Days
Workday on Saturday, September 22, 10AM-5PM. During this day
we will
complete any craft/exhibit preparation that still needs to occur before
the
festival and answer ANY questions you may have for the
festival. Be
sure to R.S.V.P. for the workday TODAY!
We are in need of pumpkins & gourds for decorating the
festival grounds and cases of bottled water, all can be dropped off the
week of
the festival. Also fresh cut herbs (lavender, thyme,
rosemary, oregano,
sage, mint), please bring them in a bucket with a little water; herbs
can be
dropped off Friday, September 28th 9-5PM (no earlier please).
Prairie Days 2012
September 29th (10am-5pm) & September 30th (12
Noon-5pm)… we need ALL of your help! Check out the Prairie Days Page on
our
website: http://www.darkecountyparks.org/Prairiedays.php
Do you have a friend or spouse that would also like to
volunteer? If so, be sure to sign them up for something also.
Thank you for your time and dedication towards
the Park District. This festival wouldn’t exist
without
you!
THANK YOU!
