here and the Park District has several things we would love for you to
be
involved with. Below
is the list of the
current activities and programs planned. If you are able to attend
please

July
Saturdays
in July- Butterfly Monitoring: 3PM
Assist the
staff with our record-keeping of butterfly species of Shawnee Prairie. Field guides will be
provided to assist us in
identifying.
Friday,
July 6th – Install new steps: 8AM
Join us today
as we work on installing two sets of steps by the Council House at
Prairie
Ridge Meadow. Please meet in the parking lot by the Council House off
of Wilson
Ave.
Saturday,
July 7th -Council House Visit:10AM
Join us
today as we discover the house and what purpose it served in the
creation of
the Treaty of Greenville. Please call the Nature Center today to sign
up.
Thursday,
July 12th - Install additional railing to bridge: 8AM
Join us
today as we will work on adding side railings to the new bridge that
was
installed at SPP.
Saturday,
July 14th- Log House Open: 1-4PM
Seeking
volunteer to host the Log House so visiting public can look inside and
visit.
Saturday,
July 14th Volunteer Cookout: 4PM
Volunteers,
it’s your turn to sit back and relax as the staff cook you a
scrumptious meal!

July 21st - Paddle the Greenville: 10AM-4PM
Are you an
experienced paddler? If so, we could use your skills and help during
upcoming
paddling programs.
Thursday,
July 26th- Task Force Day- 8AM
Join us
today as our goal will be to replace a gate with new fencing.
