Greenville Eagles 2177…
Independence Day
Celebration in its final planning stages
Greenville Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary officers and volunteers met
recently to put the finishing planning touches on the Lodge’s Seventh
Annual Eagles Independence Day celebration at Shade Road Sunday.
The park will open at 3 p.m. Music will be provided by Grove Hill from
4 to 7 p.m., then Classifieds from 7 to 10 p.m. After that… the largest
fireworks in Darke County will entertain visitors from throughout the
Miami Valley.
Throughout the day there will be food and entertainment for young and
old.
For the kids there will be the Eagles Bounce House (Moonwalk),
playground equipment and games sponsored by the Lady’s Auxiliary. The
Auxiliary will also be selling popcorn and glow necklaces, and serving
hot dogs, hamburgers, candy and more.
Vendors will include Grumpy’s, Bowmans and Kettlecorn, as well as
elephant ears, funnel cakes and more from Rismiller’s.
The Eagles Independence Day Celebration is funded entirely by Eagles
members and is free to the public. Donations will be accepted to help
fund future celebrations. A membership drive is planned during the
event. First Responders (Police, Firefighters, EMS and Military… active
and veterans) will have their first year’s membership available at no
charge.
Soft drinks, water and beer will be available, with alcoholic beverages
limited to ages 21 and over. Parking is free, however come early as
space is limited.
Due to insurance requirements, no pets are allowed. Absolutely no
carry-in coolers, food items or beverages are allowed.
Eagles Shade Road is located three miles west of Greenville, off SR
502. Turn left on Shade Road, entrance is less than one-quarter mile on
the right.
