Summer Reading for
Adults
The Greenville Public Library is sponsoring its first ever Summer
Reading Program for adults ages 18 and older. For many
years children and teens enjoyed summer programs where they could track
their reading and win prizes. Now adults can too! “Between
the Covers” begins June 15th and goes through August 3rd.
Because adults are busy, the structure of the program is
streamlined. Just “Read It, Rate It, Win It!” First read
any book of your choice – then pick up a book review/entry form at one
of the desks. As you’ll see, you need to write in the title &
author, your name and phone/email, and circle the number of stars you
think the book deserves. Turn in your form for weekly drawings -
you can submit as many as you like!
Two winners will be chosen every Friday for $10 gift certificates from
such local businesses as Ivy League, the Coffee Pot, ArtiFACTS, and
Cratiques-Antiques & Collectibles. Random drawings will also
occur for such items as bookbags and books.
The three grand prizes will be drawn on August 3rd. First prize
is the “Sweetheart Package” from the Inn at Versailles. This $200
value consists of an overnight stay, dinner, and other amenities.
Second prize will be two DCCA tickets to “Marty Stuart & the
Fabulous Superlatives,” a $60 value. Third prize is a $50 Gift
Card to the Bistro.
Many thanks to the businesses who contributed prizes! For more
information please call Deb Cameron at 548-3915. Do something
different this summer – read a little extra and enter for a chance to
win!
