Fifth: Downtown Greenville is the Place to be.
First
Fridays for July will be celebrated with the ever popular Flicks on
Fifth.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets as ‘The Incredibles’ will be
playing on a

Mill

Farm Power
of the Past
July 5 -8.
Farm and machinery enthusiasts will enjoy this festival held at the
Darke
County Fairgrounds highlighting machinery, implements and equipment,
propelled
by animals, steam and internal combustion engines. In addition, there
are over
100 flea market and craft vendors, music entertainment, good food, a
Sunday car
show and fun for the whole family will be offered.

Vintage
Wine and Shine Car Show
July 7,
from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Winery at Versailles offers a unique
location to
show off classic cars and trucks during the 3rd Annual Vintage Wine
& Shine
Car Show. Bring out your car, truck or bike and support The Fisher
House at
Wright Patt Air Force Base. Registration is $10 per vehicle and begins
at 10
am. Judging will be held at 1:30 and trophies will be given at 3 pm.
Dash
Plaques will be given to the first 50 vehicles. Please note the show
will be
held in our grass areas around the vineyard and our parking lot.

Outdoor Concert at Shawnee Prairie

7:00 pm. The Ramblin’ Rovers, based out of Sidney, are a group of
highly
diverse musicians performing a wide range of acoustic folk music. They
bring to
the stage the joy and intimacy of the “campfire” experience immediately
extending the circle to include the audience in their musical journey.
The
band’s unique spirited renditions, high energy, and talent to deliver
it make
them a must see! This concert is FREE. Bring is a blanket or lawn
chair.

History
Comes Alive! Civil War Encampment
July 21
& 22, 11am, 1pm, & 3pm. History comes alive as the
“Persimmon
Regiment”, the 35th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, visits Shawnee Prairie.
This
representation of the regiment will offer demonstrations of their day
to day
living during the war, the care and firing of their heavy-artillery and
the
life of a soldier in the Union Army during the Civil War. The Log House
area
will be alive with the sights, sounds and smells of the 19th century as
the
Persimmon Regiment encamps here for the weekend. Join us for this
fantastic bit

Oakley Festival
July 25
-29. The mere mention of the name “Annie Oakley” brings to mind a
legend, a
legacy and a piece of American history. The life of Phoebe Anne Moses
served as
an exclamation point honoring the Great American West. Darke County
will
forever be linked to Annie Oakley as her heritage and place of birth.

Historical Society Open for the Summer
The Arcanum
Historical Society will host an open house at 123 W. George Street
which once
was the Beck Hotel and Arcanum Wayne Trail Grange. It will be open

Saturday, starting May 27 through August 12. In addition, the Research
Library
will be open from 9:00 until 11:45 am on Saturdays, or by appointment.
