GREENVILLE- I Focus-I Change Lives.
Dave Knapp Ford is the place to be on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 as the
annual Dave Knapp Ford Lincoln Blood Drive will get underway. In
conjunction with the Community Blood Center (CBC), the blood drive will
be at the local Ford Dealership on May 30 with the blood being drawn
from 3-6 p.m.
Also, one lucky donor will win a blood red Ford Focus, purchased from Knapp by the Community Blood Center.
For eight years, Knapp has been a part of community blood drives. Now,
it’s on a much larger scale and throwing in a new car for some lucky
donor is extra incentive.
“Everyone that gives blood during the blood drive season this year will
be eligible to win a brand new 2012 red Ford Focus,” Knapp said. “The
Focus is red, specifically to go along with this blood drive.”
The blood drive will then move from place to place over the course of
the drive that ends June 23.
“The car will travel with the blood drive at every donor location,”
Knapp stated. “So everyone will be able to see it and touch it.”
According to Knapp, it’s all about the community and making sure we
take care of each other.
“I can’t stress how important it is to have blood in the blood bank,”
Knapp said. “The CBC came to us with this iFocus program because they
know our hearts are in line with what they need. They came to us and we
embraced it. Anything that I can do to help the community and the
people is something I want to do.”
Helping others is something Knapp has been doing for many years.
From golf outings to sponsoring a horse blanket to buying 4-H animals
at the Darke County Fair, Knapp has been there for the community.
“If this was a pageant, then that’s not me,” Knapp pointed out. “I want
to put my money to use where somebody needs it and somewhere along the
line, we’ve all either needed blood or knew someone that did. Giving
blood means giving life to someone in need of it. I like giving back to
the community, that’s what it’s all about.”
Everyone age 18 or older who registers to donate at any CBC branch or
mobile blood drive from Tuesday, May 29 through Saturday, Sept. 2 is
automatically registered into the drawing to win the 2012 Ford Focus.
CBC is launching the summer campaign with the “iFocus, iChange Local
Lives, the Power is in Your Hands” t-shirt. The red, white and blue
flag design t-shirt is free to anyone who registers to donate Tuesday,
May 29 through Saturday, June 23 at any CBC branch or mobile blood
drive.
The Ford Focus giveaway follows in the tire tracks of last summer’s
wildly popular drawing for a new Jeep Patriot. “Our donors keep telling
us they love our summer car giveaway campaign,” said CBC Donor
Relations Director Andrew Keelor. “We value the commitment they make to
donating during the busy summer months, and the Focus is a great way to
say thank you. This car is a great combination of style and value, plus
it’s the perfect color – race red!”
The prize Ford Focus will be on display as the Dave Knapp Ford Lincoln
dealership during the mobile blood drive and kick-off party. The
celebration will include free hot dogs, baked beans, chips, popcorn and
cake, special gift bags for donors (including the iFocus t-shirt) and
door prizes. .
The “iFocus on Saving Lives” Ford Focus summer giveaway campaign is
sponsored by REACH Magazine and Dave Knapp Ford Lincoln of Greenville.
