Main
Street Greenville
Mong
is Grand Marshal of 2012 Holiday Horse
Parade
Downtown
Greenville’s Hometown Holiday Horse
Parade Returns for another year on Saturday, November 17 at 7pm. The
parade
will travel from the south end of Broadway to the traffic circle, then
return
down Broadway to end up back where it started on the south end.
This
year, Greenville’s Phyllis Mong will serve
as Grand Marshal. Phyllis has lived and worked at many places in
Greenville and
has given countless hours and resources to the community. We
are grateful
to have someone who has given to the community as much as Phyllis.
The
Hometown Holiday Horse Parade will have 50+
entries and bring an estimated 8,000 spectators to the downtown area.
Main
Street Greenville, the non-profit organization that has been
coordinating the
event since 2004, utilizes many volunteers within the community to make
the
event happen, as well as provide multiple entertainment options leading
up to
the parade.
This
year is no different as several groups
will be performing various forms of holiday entertainment throughout
the
evening leading up to the parade. Events this year include:
Santa
Claus himself will make an appearance
from 3pm-5pm at The Coffee Pot in the Palace before hitching a ride in
the
parade.
From
5pm-5:30pm, Readmore’s Hallmark will host
Storytime with Storybuddies Belle & Jingle.
From
5:30pm-6:30pm, there will be an upbeat
high energy performance in Annie Oakley Park featuring the Union City
Fire
House Calliope.
This
all leads up to the main event: the
Holiday Horse Parade, which will begin at 7:00pm.
Main
Street Greenville is a non-profit
