Darke
County Center for the Arts
Ghost
Walk tickets on Sale
Friday through Sunday, Oct. 26-28
Darke
County Center for the Arts
will continue their Halloween season tradition by hosting their ninth
annual
Ghost Walk in Downtown Greenville on Friday, October 26, Saturday,
October 27,
and Sunday, October 28. Based on stories collected by Arcanum resident
Rita
Arnold which reveal local encounters with the unknown and unexplained,
tours
led by local guides will begin at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall at 7:30
p.m.
and last for at least an hour and a half.
A
new addition to the Ghost Walk
will be an “After Walk” at The Coffee Pot in downtown Greenville
immediately
following Saturday night's Ghost Walk tour. The informal gathering will
offer
participants the opportunity to hear behind-the-scenes stories from
tour guides
and actors, as well as to share stories of their own; this event
extension will
begin at around 9:30 p.m.
According
to DCCA Executive
Director Julie Strait, the walking tour will include three new stories
as well
as old favorites including a tale involving Darke County's own Little
Miss Sure
Shot, Annie Oakley. She also reminds potential participants that many
of the
sites visited include uneven terrain and may be located in dimly
lighted areas.
Also, as in past years, Ghost Walk will be held regardless of weather
conditions; if seriously inclement weather occurs, all of the stories
will be
told indoors.
Greenville
Masonic Lodge #143 will
serve refreshments at St. Clair Memorial Hall before and after the
event. Also,
Mrs. Arnold's books chronicling the ghosts of Darke County and beyond
will be
available for purchase. Tickets for the Ghost Walk cost $10, and can be
purchased at DCCA's office located on the third floor of the Greenville
Public
Library, as well as at Ann's Gifts and Readmore's Hallmark in downtown
Greenville. Tickets may be reserved by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908
or
purchased online at dcca@centerforarts.com. Tickets will also be
available at
the door.
