DCCA
presents Grand Ole Opry Star Marty Stuart
Traditional
country music star Marty Stuart
will appear in concert with his band The Fabulous Superlatives at Henry
St.
Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on Saturday, November 10; the show
begins at
8 p.m. “Darke County Center for the Arts feels most fortunate to have
secured a
performer of this magnitude,” stated DCCA Artistic director Keith
Rawlins.
Known as one of country music's most eclectic artists, Marty Stuart
started out
singing gospel music as a child, then played bluegrass with Lester
Flatt, and
spent six years with Johnny Cash before becoming a four-time Grammy
winner with
his own distinctive brand. Now starring in The Marty Stuart
Show on
RFD-TV which also features other country greats including his wife
Connie
Smith, the artist is credited with being crucial to the preservation of
the
music he loves.
Prior
to the concert, Marty Stuart's Manager
Bobby Roberts will share from his experience in the entertainment
business
emphasizing the important impact of music in the classroom. This
pre-show
discussion is free and open to the public, and will begin at 7 p.m. at
Henry
St. Clair Memorial Hall.
According
to Mr. Rawlins, Marty Stuart strongly
believes in the importance of roots music, and has evolved into a
highly
revered practitioner of the genre. “Marty says that country music is
timeless,
an empowering force that transcends trends to make a difference in
lives. That
belief underlies the energy and joy which infuse Marty's sensational
concerts,”
Rawlins said. “And he sings almost every song he ever knew at his
shows: you'll
be surprised how many of them are your own favorites,” Rawlins
concluded.
Sponsors
for the Marty Stuart concert are

Center for
