Thursday,
November 1st - Task Force – 8AM – Shawnee Prairie
Meet
by the wood
pile as our goal for the day is to split and cut wood for various
upcoming
programs. If you have a chainsaw/ ax please plan on bringing them with
you.

2nd - Cookies?
We
are in need
of 3-5 dozen cookies for the Grand Opening on Saturday November 3rd. If
you are
interested in making cookies please contact me today. Drop cookies off
at the
Center before 5PM on Friday.

3rd - 10AM- Grand Opening
Join
us for the
Grand Opening of Donna May Campbell.
We
are in need of a couple volunteers to arrive by 9:30AM to assist with
setting
up a tent and getting the cookies and drinks ready. Please let me know
if you
are interested in this opportunity.

3rd - Habitat Healing- 1PM-5PM
Bring
the entire
family and join us at Shawnee Prairie as we spend the afternoon
removing bush
honeysuckle. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes. If you have a
pair of
loppers please feel free to bring them with you!

Saturday,
November 10th- Candlelight Dinner- Prep Team
Prep
Team will
be arriving at 11AM at Shawnee Prairie and work until 4 PM.
Duties of the
Prep Team consist of cooking/preparing all foods, maintaining fires,
setting
the tables, and placing luminaries down the blacktop path. No
need to
wear period-attire; just be ready to prepare foods and cook over open
fires and
assist where needed. Please
let me know
if you can help out.
Saturday,
November 10th- Candlelight Dinner- Dinner Team
Dinner
Team will
be arriving at 4PM dressed in period-attire and ready to take prep team
places. Tasks which will be completed during this time
include: warming
food bowls, keeping all foods warm (hopefully all cooked already), and
place
foods on serving plates/ bowls, serve food, clean main dishes, serve
dessert
and then clean up Log House. All extra food and dirty dishes will be
brought up
the Nature Center at the end of the
night.
Tuesday,
November
13th – Reception Desk Workshop
Not
sure if you
want to volunteer at the Reception Desk or not?!?! Join us tonight at
the
Nature Center at 6:30 PM for a Reception Desk Workshop. We
will review
desk tasks and duties. Please RSVP by November 6th.
Thursday,
November 15th- Task Force- 8AM
Join
us today as
we accomplish some clean up details at 130 Winchester. Duties for the
day
include: Remove small trees at front of lot and combine the brush piles
for
removal. If you
have any of the
following items please bring them with you: Chain Saw, Pruners, hand
rake and other
household outside tools. Once we
have finished here we will move to Chestnut Street marsh for the
remainder of
the time to begin some of the willow tree removal around the marsh.

Thanksgiving! It’s time to spend time with our families and eat lots of
amazing
foods.

November 27th 9:30 AM- Nature Center Decorating
Join
us today as
we begin to decorate the Nature Center for the Holidays. Please let me
know if
you are able to make it.
Wednesday,
November 28th 9:30 AM- Log House Decorating
Dress warm and join us
in the Log House as we being to decorate the house for the Holidays. If
you
have any pioneer decorations please feel free to bring them along.

30th- Luminary Hike Prep- 10AM
Join
us today as
we gather and fill the luminaries with sand for the Walkin’ in a Winter
Wonderland hike on Saturday.
