The autumn season is fast approaching and fall colors in West-central
Ohio are a "must see" this year! Explore the beauty and color of
October at a Darke County park, prairie or trail. Take a guided tour of
one of our historic sites nestled in a colorful setting, plan a
romantic dinner at a winery or just take in the many unique activities
in Darke County.
Bradford Pumpkin Show
October 2 - 6. Five nights and two days of fun including band parades,
royalty night, talent show, lip sync contest, cheerleading competition,
arts and crafts, street fair with food, games and rides plus much, much
more. Be sure to keep your eyes open (and your mouth closed) for the 10
tons of confetti which fills the streets, air and every crevice in

Hike to Health
October 4: 6:00 pm. Now is the perfect time to join a Naturalist and
hike to better health. Each session is free and designed for you to
enjoy the benefits of exercising with a group but still be able to go
at your own pace, all while enjoying the beautiful fall foliage. We
will meet at Eidson Woods Preserve for this session and hike at a brisk

FirstFriday - downtown Greenville
October 5: 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Enjoy an evening downtown with local
artisans including handmade jewelry, pottery, art and so much more. In
addition, many businesses will be open late offering a great time in
downtown to stroll around and enjoy the early autumn evening.

Farmhouse Antiques & Primitive Handmades Show
October 6: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Enjoy some of Ohio's best farmhouse
antiques and folk artists at the Darke County Fairgrounds. For more

Bear's Mill - Fall Open House
October 6 & 7: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Bring your friends and family
to this celebration of Harvest, complete with delicious fare, live
music, the rich colors of Autumn and walks along the Mill race... what
better time to celebrate? The Mill Store and Gallery offers original
art, local handmade pottery, unique accessories and jewelry, as well as
pumpkins, bittersweet, Bear’s Mill stoneground flours and private

Downing Harvest Festival
October 6 & 7, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Bring the family to celebrate
the Downing's harvest of apples, pumpkins, gourds and so much more!

Brumbaugh Fruit and Fun Farm
Now through October: Saturday 11-7 &Sunday 12-7. Entertainment for
the entire family can be found at "Darke County's Agricultural
Playground"! Activities include... hayrides to the Kinda Kooky Korn
maze and pumpkin patch, as well as Monster Mountain, Storybook Forest,
Ghost Town Stage, Grandpa's Fun Acres (petting zoo and playground for
the kids, young and old), Willy Worm's Wagon Express, Kid's Korral,
Ole' Fishin' Hole (complete with pond and campfire sites), Farmer's
Daughter Bakery and Brumbaugh's Market can be explored on this
family-owned and operated farm in Arcanum. Admission is $8 for those
over 3 years of age and under 64. The bakery hours are 6:00 am to 6:00

Annual Harvest of Quilts
October 12 & 13: Fri. 10 - 8; Sat. 9 - 5. The Towne Squares Quilt
Club hosts this event in the Youth Building at the Darke County
Fairgrounds in Greenville. Activities include a fashion show, public
quilt auction, quilt raffle, country store, merchants mall, concessions
and demonstrations. Door prizes will be given away during the event.
