Opportunities for September

of volunteer opportunities below as there are some new
opportunities. Please let me know if you can assist with any
of

Thursday,
September 6th – Task Force Day-
8AM
Meet
us at Turkeyfoot parking lot as our goal
for the day will be to tackle the following: repair boards on bridge,
repair a
parking block, install new post by parking lot, etc.
Thursday,
September 6th – Bike to Health
-6:00 PM
Join
a Naturalist as we bike all or a portion
on the Tecumseh Trail. Meet at the Gettysburg Access Point (Bridge
Street).
Families are welcome.
Tuesday,
September 11th – Worth Family
Preserve – 8AM
Assist
staff in cutting down a tree in the
North end of the parking lot. Please plan on bringing a chainsaw if you
have
one.
Friday,
September 14th – Shawnee Prairie
Preserve- 9AM
Join
Naturalist as we work in the prairie
gardens around the Nature Center removing woody growth and other
invasive
plants.
Monday,
September 17th- Shawnee Prairie
Preserve- 9AM
Meet
us by the big red barn to cut down corn
from the field and start making our corn shocks for Prairie Days! Feel
free to
bring a corn knife if you have one.
Thursday,
September 20th- Shawnee Prairie Work
Day -8AM
Join
us today as we plan to complete the last
couple things on our list before Prairie Days.
Thursday,
September 20th- Log House- 9AM
Join
us as we clean the Log House for the
festival weekend.
Saturday,
September 22nd- Prairie Days Workday-
10AM-4PM
Join
us today as we plan to complete any
craft/exhibit preparation that still needs to occur before the festival
and
answer ANY questions you may have for the festival.

R.S.V.P. for the workday, TODAY!

September 27th - Apple Butter
-9AM
Join
us today as we will be peeling and cutting
all the apples for this weekend’s festival.
Friday,
September 28th -Apple Butter- 7AM/
Festival Set- UP- 9AM
Join
us today as we get the grounds ready to go
for the Prairie Days Festival. We will also be making apple butter
today.
Saturday,
September 29th- Prairie Days Festival
-10AM-5PM
Don’t
let yourself miss out on the largest
event of the year! We need your help assisting the public with
activities,
stirring apple butter, hosting the Log House, make-it take- it crafts
and much
more! Join us for a busy and exciting weekend.

September 30th- Prairie Days Festival
