Main
Street Greenville
Downtown
Celebrates ‘A Day of Harvest’
Main
Street Greenville presents ‘A Day of
Harvest’ in downtown Greenville on Saturday, September 29 with many
activities
planned throughout the day to gear anyone up for harvest fun!
A
fun feature for this year’s event includes a
Chili Trot sponsored by Daily Advocate and The Meat Shop. The contest
is open
to the public to make their best pot of chili and have it sampled and
voted on
by event goers. The Chili Trot lasts from 10:30 am- 12:30 pm at
multiple
locations to get people trotting around downtown! To
enter a chili,
please pick up a registration form at Daily Advocate or at www.DowntownGreenville.org. Entry
deadline is September 27 at noon.
In
addition to good chili tasting is a Pumpkin
Giveaway. Spend $25 at downtown businesses on
Saturday, then take
your receipt to the Pumpkin Giveaway Tent at the Courthouse to receive
a free
pumpkin while supplies last.
Darke
County United Way will be joining the harvest
festivities with their annual Lead the Way Tractor
Cruise. And at
11:00 am Main Street Greenvile offers a storytime of “Savoring Our
Sweet
Stories” at The Coffee Pot for children 2-11 years old.
No
harvest activity would be complete without
savory autumn foods. Explore the harvest offerings
from The A&B
Coffee & Cake Co., The Bistro Off Broadway, Brenda’s Beanery,
The Coffee
Pot, D’Alessios and Montage Café available all throughout the day.
