Darke
County Parks
Nature
Day!
What
better time to celebrate nature
than Earth Day weekend? Join the Darke County Parks on Saturday, April
20th
from 10:00am-2:00pm for Nature Day.
This
day will be packed with activities to remind us of the wondrous planet
that we
all call home. From the tiniest insect living under a log to raptors
soaring
above, Shawnee Prairie Preserve will be aflutter with information and
activities for all ages. Children will have the opportunity to have
their
“passport” stamped at each station for a prize. There will also be
hikes and
programs scheduled throughout the day. Our newest Animal Ambassadors,
Joseph
the Red-Tailed Hawk and Greta the Great Horned Owl will be on hand
ready to
meet and greet with you! Come on out to Shawnee Prairie Preserve (4267
St. Rt.
502 West) to Discover (or re-discover) what your Darke County Parks has
to
offer!
Refreshments
will be available for
purchase from the Friends of the Darke County Parks.
