Comic Jugglers open DCCA season
Darke County Center for the Arts initial presentation of the Artists
Series
season provides something different from the organization's usual slate
of
musical performers. Guiness World Record holders “The Passing Zone”
will
perform a zany blend of comedy and gravity-defying juggling
on Saturday,
September 14 at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville.
The duo of
John Wee and Owen Morse have appeared on The Tonight Show, The Today
Show, and
were the top comedy act on America's Got Talent. The show starts
at 8 p.m.
“The Passing Zone has something for everyone,” said DCCA Executive
Director
Andrea Jordan. “They are classy and edgy at the same time, engaging in
a steady
stream of comic banter while performing remarkably complex juggling
tricks.
This is a show the entire family will enjoy,” she concluded.
According to Keith Rawlins, DCCA Artistic Director, “The Passing Zone”
tosses
traditional juggling clubs back and forth, but their act also includes
innovative tricks that induce thrills as well as giggles. “These guys
juggle
almost anything, including chainsaws, knives, and members of the
audience; and
they are really, really funny all at the same time,” stated Rawlins.
Greenville Technology, Incorporated is sponsoring “The Passing Zone”
performance. Additionally, the Ohio Arts Council helped fund this
program with
state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence
and
cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. DCCA also receives operating
support from
the Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial as well as funding from the
Ketrow
Foundation, Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund.
DCCA's Artists Series also includes performances by popular concert
pianist
Alpin Hong, legendary singer/songwriter Melissa Manchester, and the
Toledo
Symphony Orchestra playing the music of Mozart. Season tickets are
available at
a discount from individual ticket prices. Tickets for “The Passing
Zone” are
