Attention
Veterans
On
Sunday, March 3rd the
U.S. Air Force Band of Flight’s “Night Flight Jazz Ensemble” will be
performing
at the Versailles High School Performing Arts Center at 3pm.
At
least one very familiar
face will be among the musicians, that is former VHS band director Tech
Sergeant Dan Bentley. Sgt
Bentley has
been instrumental in bringing this “free to the public” performance to
the Versailles
area. (Bentley’s
wife is VHS Alumni
Shannon Stuck, daughter of Donna & Carl Stuck.)
In
a conversation with Sgt.
Bentley he recalled how active the VFW/American Legion of Versailles
had been
and has requested all the military; active and retired come to enjoy
the
performance.
He
feels the Korean &
WWII vets will especially appreciate listening to the Big Band music of
such
legends as Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey which will be approximately ½
of the
band’s performance.
Everyone
is encouraged to
support the military by attending this special afternoon of music. Wearing patriotic red,
white & blue
(colors that never run) would be an added bonus.
If you have any questions you may Dave Miller
at 937-526-3836.
