First
Presbyterian Church
Swinging
with the Saints
Mardi gras in
Greenville?
Not quite, but “Swinging with the Saints” at
First Presbyterian Church
on Fourth Street will be the next best thing.
On Sunday, February 10 at 3:00 p.m, preceding
Fat Tuesday and Lent, the
church will present a concert for the community.
Guests will enjoy
a variety of musical styles performed by
many talented musicians. Melody
Line
will perform “Dessert Alert!”, “Not so Boring Minuet” and “Accentuate
the
Positive”. Linda
Payne will sing “Alto’s
Lament” and then join with Jonathan Payne on
French horn for a clever duet.
Jonathan will follow that with a French Horn
solo of his own.
Changing the pace
of the program, Nicole Manges will play
violin solos followed by Terri and Darrell Fryman joining on the piano
duet
“This Little Light of Mine”. The
Presby Combo,
consisting of Jane tester
on bass, Brad Hare on drums, and Terri Fryman, piano, will perform
selections
by Mancini, Brubeck and Wolaver.
The concert will
close with everyone joining to sing “When
the Saints Go Marching In”. Refreshments
will be served following the program.
Please join the congregation of First
Presbyterian and Pastor John
Person for an hour of entertainment on Sunday, February 10 at 3 p.m. at
114
East Fourth Street in Greenville.
