“Barbecue & Blues”
Darke
County Center for the Arts invites music lovers to a picnic
on the lovely grounds of Turtle Creek Golf Club on Friday, July 12.
DCCA's
“Barbecue and Blues” will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with music by local
favorites
Frohna and Warner followed by Cincinnati-based blues rockers Amy
McFarland and
the Blues Merchants. The kitchen at Turtle Creek will have available
for
purchase pulled pork sandwiches and barbecue chicken, with baked beans
and cole
slaw rounding out the menu. Tickets for the event which is a
fund-raiser for
DCCA are $10; Turtle Creek's food offerings cost an additional $10.
Additionally, the Golf Club will offer for sale a full range of drinks.
The
musical performances are made possible by “Barbecue and Blues”
sponsors Matt and Angie Arnold, Tom and Jennifer Bish, George and Becky
Luce,
and Bob and Jean McLear. Frohna and Warner will perform a wide variety
of rock
favorites; Milwaukee native Aaron Frohna's outstanding voice and
excellent
guitar skills are backed up by accomplished native son, percussionist
David
Warner. Amy McFarland is known as one of Cincinnati's best vocalists;
her
match-up[with the veteran musicians of The Blues Merchants has earned
high
praise across the region.
“Barbecue
and Blues” will take place rain or shine; the event will
move into Turtle Creek's comfortable clubhouse in the event of
inclement

tickets
will also be sold at the gate the night of the event.
