Bogs & Caverns
Are
you interested in a day trip with Parks’ staff and other
nature enthusiasts? You
are in luck
because there is still room for you to join our Quarterly Eco-Tour
Trip: Bogs
and Caverns on Friday, July 26th.
We
will depart the Nature Center at 8:30am and return at 5:30pm.
Our
trip will begin by loading into the big white van and heading
to Cedar Bog Nature Preserve for a morning tour.
Cedar Bog is the largest example of a boreal
and prairie fen in Ohio. It
has many
rare plants and animals, as well as excellent orchid and prairie
wildflower
displays. We
will then eat lunch and
head North to the Ohio Caverns.
We will
enjoy a tour of the caves and then explore the 35-acre park and gift
shop. Be
sure to bring a jacket as the temperature
of the cave is a consistent 54 degrees!
If
you are interested in joining, please call the Nature Center at
937.548.0165 to pre-register, today!
Space is limited!
Fee for the
trip is $25 (covers admissions to both sites). Ages 18 and up welcome! Binoculars and camera are
encouraged.
