GREENVILLE
– The Greenville Eagles
Independence Day celebration will feature Classified on July 5 and
Cotton on
July 6, however it will not include fireworks for 2013.
“We’re
going to have the same fun
we’ve always had every year,” said Eagles Worthy President Steffanie
Baker,
“but unfortunately we will have to pass on the fireworks this year. Our
financial responsibilities make the expense impossible at this time.”
For
several years, the Eagles has
provided the sole financial support for the fireworks. Baker said the
plan is
to make the program bigger and stronger than ever next year.
“We
will be open to sponsors who
would like to participate and help us out,” she added.
The
July 5 celebration will be at
Shade Road and features Classified from 8 to 11 p.m. There will also be
chicken
dinners for sale for $7 each. Admission to Classified will be $3.
On
July 6, the celebration
continues with Cotton at Eagles on Third Street in downtown Greenville.
Cotton
will be playing from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission will also be $3.
Baker
reminded visitors that no
coolers are allowed. Also no pets, except service dogs, are allowed on
the
Shade Road grounds due to insurance requirements.
