Darke County Parks Volunteer Opportunity at Darke County Parks Doyou want to spend some time on the trails? Need a reason to goand take a walk? If so, please join us on Monday, March 11th at6:30PM for the Adopt-A-Park meeting at Shawnee Prairie Preserve. Notsure if it is for you? Then come join us and see what it is all about.
During the meeting we will discuss the following topics:
• How to Adopt-A-Park. • The role of a volunteer assisting with a park.
The purpose of this program is to keep our parks clean, safe, and accessible to the public. As a volunteer, we ask that you to visit the park that you have chosen/ been assigned to at least once a month during the months of April to November and from December to March bimonthly; weather permitting. Some of yourduties will include: picking up litter, making sure the trails areclear of woody growth and making sure structures (such as boardwalks,bridges, overlook decks, bulletin boards, and shelters) are secure andupdated. Attached you will find Checklists for the Park; feelfree to make additional copies as needed.
