Friends of the
Library
Used
Book Fundraiser schedule for May 3
Donate your gently used books
Spring cleaning
is just around the corner and those good
used books the family has read are just begging for new readers.
As you clean your
bookshelves, box up those books and
deliver them to P.A.W.S. on Martin Street across from the Dairy Queen
any
weekday afternoon before May 3. Someone
will appreciate the opportunity to purchase those books you have
enjoyed as
they assist the Friends of the Greenville Public Library.
FOL, each year,
uses the proceeds from the annual Used Book
Sale as well as contributions from members to provide materials,
equipment and
programs beyond the Greenville Public Library’s budget.
This past year, Friends helped fund the new
Security System, the theater system in the third floor Conference Room,
several
large bulletin boards, a set of World Book Encyclopedias for the
Children’s
Department, funds for the Wii and Lego Club, updating microfilm for the
Genealogy Department and the Summer Family Reading Program.
Books donated
should be in good condition, with no
magazines, Readers’ Digest Condensed Books or encyclopedias. FOL must pay for the cost
of disposing of
undesirable materials, which reduces their proceeds from the sale of
books. The 2013
Annual Used Book Sale will be on
Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18. Small amounts of books may be
brought to
the Greenville Public Library. Larger
quantities should be delivered to P.A.W.S.
For any questions
about the book sale, membership or
activities of the Friends of the Greenville Public Library, call
937.548.1916.
