Greenville Library
& the Horse Parade
The beloved annual Horse Parade is in its 10th year - and now includes
the Greenville Public Library! The parade route has been extended to
circle in front of Sycamore Street going right past the Library lawn.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the evening of Saturday November 23rd
because it promises to be very special.
All kinds of fun events will be taking place at the Library starting at
5:00 p.m. with the parade starting at 7:00. The Library has again
partnered with Main Street Greenville to expand the enjoyment of this
popular holiday kick-off.
Five bleachers for public seating will be available on the lawn which
will be festively decorated and lit. Tommy Renfro is scheduled to
perform an acoustic Christmas concert on the Library steps from 6:00 to
7:00 and again after the parade. See www.tommyrenfro.com.
Food vendor “Banner Bound 4H Club” will sell pork sandwiches, baked
goods, and hot chocolate. The Library will be open until 8:15
with restrooms available.
Local retirement homes have been invited to bring residents to
watch the parade from the Library’s 2nd floor windows - seating that is
cozy & comfortable. B&D Pony Rides will have four ponies
available for the kids from from 5:00 to 7:00.
The Friends of the Library are hosting a book sale from Monday the 18th
through the evening of Saturday the 23rd. Books will be available on
tables in front of the Circ Desk. Cost is $2 for a grocery bag
full (bags provided). “These are better books. We have lots of
fiction and some non-fiction and children’s books.” Stock up for winter
reading and holiday gift-giving!
Looking forward to seeing you at the Library and Downtown Greenville on
the 23rd!
