Hometown
Holiday Horse Parade Extends Route for 10th Year!
The
2013 Hometown Holiday Horse Parade returns for another year on
Saturday, November 23 at 7 pm in Downtown Greenville. This annual
tradition for the Greenville community has kicked off the holiday
season for the downtown district the past ten years! This year's
Platinum Parade Sponsors are Wayne Healthcare, Greenville Federal,
OneMain Financial & Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The
lighted event boosts 50+ entries and brings an estimated 8,000+
spectators into the downtown area. Main Street Greenville, the
non-profit organization that has been coordinating the event since
2004, utilizes many volunteers within the community to make the event
happen, as well as provide multiple entertainment options leading up
to and after the parade.
To
help celebrate the 10th year, the route of the parade has been
extended with more entertainment featured before and after the
parade! This year, the route will travel down Broadway, go around the
circle and travel up Sycamore (passing the Library). The extended
route will hopefully allow for better views of the parade and a more
enjoyable experience for all.
The
Greenville Public Library (located on Sycamore), will offer bleachers
on their lawn, live music provided by Tommy Renfro, a book sale and
FREE PONY RIDES (sponsored by Friends of the Greenville Public
Library and St. Clair Manor).
